Tutorial: Charged Opals
What is a Charged Opal?
A Charged Opal is a rare drop that can be added to iridium gear in order to increase the max level of an enchantment. For example, adding a Charged Opal to an Efficiency V Iridium Pickaxe will increase the efficiency level to VI. For a full list of applicable enchantments, please see Step 3 below.

Step 1: Mine Deepslate Diamond Ore
Charged Opals can ONLY be obtained by mining deepslate diamond ore with a netherite pickaxe. For every ore mined, there is a 1/150* chance for it to drop a Charged Opal:

Step 2: Appling Your Charged Opal to Iridium Gear
Once you have gotten your first Charged Opal (yay!) you can now add it to the iridium item of your choice (Charged Opals will ONLY work with iridium gear). A Charged Opal will not work if your iridium item is not enchanted with an applicable enchantment. Once you have confirmed your enchanted iridium item is compatible with a Charged Opal, hold the opal your offhand (the default keybind is F). Now, hold the iridium item you wish to upgrade in your dominant hand, and switch hands (press F) again. You should see some particles and hear a sound, and your item's enchantment has now increased a level!
Step 3: A List of Charged Opal Enchantments
You can use more than one Charged Opal on an item, up to double the normal max enchantment level. For example, you can use 5 Charged Opals to upgrade the Sharpness on your iridium sword from level V to level X. Here is a list of the enchantments a Charged Opal will increase by one level per use, followed by the applicable gear:
Efficiency: Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, Hoe, Shears
Unbreaking: Elytra, Flint and Steel, Carrot on a Stick, Warped Fungus on a Stick, Iridium Brush
Protection: Armor (Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots)
Power: Bow
Quickcharge: Crossbow
Density: Mace
Lure: Fishing Rod
